Execution of multiple queries at once with all the results displayed simultaneously. It is lightweight and allows quick access to MySQL servers. It costs $5 per month, $69.99 per year, and $129.99 for a one-time, lifetime payment. It supports Amazon or Azure relational database services, MySQL 5.0, and other cloud instances. SQL PRO is a powerful MySQL manager designed by the Microsoft SQL Management Studio. You'll likely find one or more MySQL clients to fit your needs and requirements. This article presents a carefully picked and reviewed list of the best MySQL GUI clients for macOS. So, MySQL GUI clients enable you to communicate and manage your databases. Interacting with an application through a GUI rather than typing commands in a text-based interface like a command-line interface (CLI) is more intuitive and user-friendly. What is a Graphical User Interface (GUI)? A GUI lets you interact with an application through visual elements such as buttons, windows, icons, and menus. Enormous user community and ecosystem: MySQL has a large, active community of users and developers who contribute to its ongoing development, share knowledge, and provide support. This helps maintain data integrity and availability in case of failures and other issues. Replication and backup: MySQL supports different replication methods, which enable increased data redundancy, load balancing, and backup.Extensibility: MySQL supports custom plugins, allowing developers to extend its functionality. It provides optimization techniques and indexing for fast query execution and efficient data retrieval. Performance: MySQL is considered one of the most performant databases. As a result, the data is protected from unauthorized access. Security: MySQL offers robust security features, including data encryption, secure connections (SSL/TLS), and user privilege management. It supports vertical & horizontal scaling and multi-threading. Scalability: MySQL is highly scalable and can handle large data sets.Cross-platform: MySQL is compatible with the most popular platforms, such as Windows, macOS, Linux, and Unix-like systems.Open-source: MySQL is free, open-source and available under the GNU General Public License. The main key features of MySQL are as follows: MySQL is known for its high performance, flexibility, ease of use, security, and speed. It allows you to store, retrieve, modify, and delete data. It uses Structured Query Language (SQL), a declarative language that enables you to communicate with a relational database and manipulate data. I also read that I should use something like c#fred, which did work, but (a) I don’t really know what that means and (b) the statement GRANT connect, resource, create sessions TO c#printsdb gives me the message “missing or invalid privilege”, so I’m no further ahead.īeing in a Docker container, I don’t know whether I have access to SQL*Plus, which some online tutorials presume.MySQL is a widely used, open-source relational database management system (RDBMS). I have tried: CREATE USER fred IDENTIFIED BY 'h3art0fg0ld` I’m having no success creating either a new user or a new schema in my client. I also know that different RDBMS have different ideas about what a database or a schema is, so I’m not sure whether this is the correct definition or solution. I gather that I would need to create a new user associated with the schema. I gather that Oracle XE only gives you a single database, and I would want to create a suitable schema. I could also create an additional schema to keep better organised. The same with Microsoft SQL Server, and something similar with PostgreSQL. If this were MySQL I could issue CREATE DATABASE whatever USE whatever and proceed with the tables. I connect to it using a third party client (SQLPro Studio on MacOS). I have Oracle 18c XE running inside Docker (on MacOS). I’m pretty familiar with Relational DBMS in general, but not with Oracle.
